Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Education International Bangladesh (EDUINT) collects when you use eduintbd.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle student data — transcripts, passports, test scores, financial documents — so we have tried to write this in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.
1. Who we are
Education International Bangladesh (EDUINT) is an education consultancy based in Bangladesh that helps students find, apply to and enrol in universities abroad. In data-protection terms we are the data controller for the information described below — we decide what is collected and why.
Registered address: House 32, Road 11, Gulshan-1, Dhaka 1212, Bangladesh
Privacy contact: privacy@eduintbd.com
2. What information we collect
Information you give us directly:
- Account details — your name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash, never in readable form), phone number and nationality. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google instead of a password.
- Academic profile — highest degree, institution, GPA and grading scale, field of study, graduation year, IELTS / TOEFL / GRE / GMAT scores, study budget range, preferred study level and preferred destination countries.
- Documents you upload — passport pages, academic transcripts and certificates, English test results, statements of purpose, and proof-of-funds or income documents. These are sensitive; see Security and Retention.
- Enquiry and booking details — name, phone, email, preferred country, intended intake and the message you send us through contact forms, eligibility checks, counselling bookings and event registrations.
- Content you create — messages to our AI assistant, saved programs, community posts and replies, and SOP or mock-interview submissions.
- Payment information — if you buy a paid service, payment is processed by a licensed gateway (SSLCommerz, bKash or a card processor). We receive a confirmation and reference number. We never see or store your full card number, PIN or banking credentials.
Information we collect automatically:
- Device and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and the page you were on when you submitted a form (we store this as the “source” of an enquiry so a counsellor knows what you were looking at).
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Cookies & tracking.
- Activity logs — a record of significant actions on your account (sign-in, document upload, application status change) for security and support.
We do not ask for, and ask that you do not upload, information about your religion, political opinions, health or biometric data unless a specific university or embassy application requires it and you choose to provide it.
3. Why we use your information
- To provide the service — match you to programs and scholarships, run eligibility and GPA checks, prepare and track university applications, manage document checklists, and schedule counselling sessions.
- To contact you — respond to enquiries, confirm bookings, send application and deadline reminders by email, WhatsApp, SMS or phone.
- To operate accounts — authenticate you, verify your email address, keep your session secure and prevent misuse.
- To improve the platform — understand which pages and tools students actually use, fix problems, and measure whether our advertising reaches the right people.
- To meet legal and institutional obligations — university partner requirements, visa and financial record-keeping, and responding to lawful requests.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example if you are in the EU or UK), we rely on: your consent for marketing messages and non-essential cookies; performance of a contract for delivering counselling and application services; legitimate interests for security, fraud prevention and improving our services; and legal obligation where a law requires us to keep records. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. WhatsApp, SMS and phone contact
When you tap a WhatsApp button, submit an enquiry with your phone number, or book a counselling session, you are asking us to contact you. We use the WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta) and standard telephone and SMS channels to reply, confirm appointments, and follow up on your application.
- We message you about your own enquiry or application — we do not sell your number, and we do not add you to bulk marketing blasts you did not ask for.
- Messages sent through WhatsApp are delivered by Meta and are also subject to the WhatsApp Privacy Policy.
- You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any WhatsApp or SMS message, or by emailing privacy@eduintbd.com. We will still send essential messages about a service you have already booked or paid for.
6. AI-powered features
Some features — the study assistant chat, program matching, SOP review, and the mock IELTS and visa interview tools — are powered by a third-party large language model provided by Anthropic. When you use these features, the text you submit (your question, your SOP draft, your academic profile summary) is sent to Anthropic’s API to generate a response.
- Anthropic processes this data as our service provider under its privacy terms, and does not use business API inputs to train its models.
- Please do not paste passport numbers, bank account details or national ID numbers into the AI chat. The tools do not need them.
- AI output is guidance, not a guarantee. Admission, scholarship and visa decisions are made by universities and embassies, not by us or by any model.
8. Sharing with universities and partners
The core of our service is submitting your application. When you ask us to apply to a specific institution, we share the documents and details that institution requires — typically your identity documents, transcripts, test scores, statement of purpose and proof of funds.
- We share this only for institutions you have asked us to apply to or that you have agreed we should approach on your behalf.
- Once an institution receives your application, it becomes an independent controller of that data and handles it under its own privacy policy and the law of its country.
- You can tell us to stop an application at any time, though we cannot recall data already submitted to an institution or an embassy.
9. How long we keep your information
- Account and academic profile — for as long as your account is active, and up to 24 months after your last sign-in, after which we delete or anonymise it.
- Uploaded documents — until your application cycle closes, and no more than 24 months after that, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Enquiries and leads that do not convert — 24 months from your last contact with us.
- Financial and transaction records — for the period required by Bangladeshi tax and accounting law, currently a minimum of 5 years.
- Chat and AI tool history — until you delete it or your account is closed.
10. How we protect your information
- All traffic to and from this site is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS.
- Passwords are stored only as salted hashes and cannot be read by our staff.
- Uploaded documents are held in access-controlled storage, limited to accepted document formats and size limits.
- Access to student records is restricted by staff role, and account activity is logged.
- Our database is hosted on managed infrastructure with encryption at rest and regular backups.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data and creates a real risk to you, we will notify you and any relevant authority without undue delay.
11. Your rights and choices
You can ask us to:
- Access — give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct — fix anything inaccurate or incomplete. You can edit most of this yourself in your dashboard profile.
- Delete — erase your account and data, subject to records we must keep by law. See Deleting your data.
- Object or restrict — stop or limit a particular use, including marketing messages and ad targeting.
- Port — receive your data in a common machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting processing that already happened.
Email privacy@eduintbd.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity first so we do not disclose your records to someone else. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
12. Deleting your data
To delete your account and the personal data associated with it, email privacy@eduintbd.com from the email address on your account with the subject line “Delete my data”, or write to us at the postal address below.
We will confirm your identity, delete your profile, academic details, uploaded documents, chat history and saved programs within 30 days, and confirm when it is done. We will keep only what we are legally required to retain (for example transaction records for tax purposes) and records needed to defend a legal claim, and we will tell you what those are.
If you contacted us through Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp and want that conversation data removed, say so in the same email and we will remove it from our systems. Data held by Meta on its own platforms is deleted through your Meta account settings.
13. Children and young applicants
This platform is intended for students aged 16 and over. If you are under 18, please use the service with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who may need to countersign application and financial documents. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
14. International data transfers
We are based in Bangladesh, and our database is hosted in the Asia-Pacific region. To deliver the service, your data may be transferred to and processed in other countries — including where our hosting, email, AI and advertising providers operate, and in the country of any university you apply to.
Where we transfer data out of a jurisdiction that restricts transfers, we rely on the recipient’s contractual data protection commitments (such as standard contractual clauses) and, for university applications, on the transfer being necessary to perform the service you asked for.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you by email or a notice on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the platform after that means you accept the updated policy.
